Day, On Earth: privacy
Effective 8 October 2026
Day, On Earth collects nothing about you. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared.
Your location
To tell you about the weather where you are, the app asks to use your location while you use it (and, for widgets, when they refresh).
- Your position is rounded to about 2 km on your device before anything else happens. Only the rounded position is ever kept, on your device, and only to know whether you have moved.
- The rounded position is sent to Apple's WeatherKit to get the forecast. Apple provides the weather data and handles that request under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive it.
- If you choose a city instead, that city is kept on your device in the same way.
You can turn location off at any time in Settings; the app then asks for a city.
What stays on your device
Your forecast, the sentences you have been shown (so they don't repeat too often), your settings and whether you have bought the unlock are stored only on your device, in the app and its widgets. Deleting the app deletes them.
Purchases
The unlock is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details or Apple ID. The app only asks Apple whether the purchase is present on your device.
Sharing
A share card is drawn on your device. It goes only where you send it, and it leaves out your location name unless you switch it on.
Children
The app is suitable for everyone and collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Anything that collected data would also change the App Store label first.
